light and air
Light is explored as a conecting element of the three main functions in this building. It is composed of a sports hall on the ground floor and rythmic rooms floating above this element.
the spaces between the blocks not only bathed the central gym building in natural zenital light, the compression created between the blocks, orientated in the direction of the wind created an effective natural ventilation system by accentuating the upward pull of the air from the main gymnasium floor.
The sober building creates shaded areas for student interaction outdoors, protected from the rain, facing the castle of Yverdons.
